We Made It!

We arrived safely in Uganda yesterday morning. The Lord blessed us with safe traveling, in spite of very long flights and changing planes four times. We had a great lay-over in London where we were able to leave the airport and spend the day in the city, so that was a blessing! Yesterday pastor Ryan picked us up from the airport and we took a two-hour drive from where the airport is in Entebe to where the Calvary Chapel is we are working with in Jinja. The drive alone was a shocking eye-opener to poverty and corruption. We witnessed robbery on the side of the road and saw so many very young children wandering the streets alone. Ryan said the average Ugandan lives on less than a dollar a day. The police and judicial system is extremely corrupt, and it is evident even in talking to the citizens we have met so far that this is a culture of deception.

Last night we helped out with the mid-week Bible study service for Calvary Jinja. It was a blessing to praise God with so many wonderful brothers and sisters on the other side of the world. Today we are continuing to adjust to the time zone as we prepare Bible studies for the youth conference we are putting on tomorrow (Friday). We may go help out at an orphanage called Amani Baby Cottage this afternoon if we can. PLEASE PRAY FOR US as we are running a youth conference for about 80 kids tomorrow in the village of Iguluibi outside of Jinja. Pray for the Lord's leading and anointing on our teachings and interactions with the kids and their parents. Myself, Lee, Erin, and pastor Ryan will all be teaching at the conference with interpreters.

Thank you so much for the prayers!

Ian
